ECC KIDS Student Volunteer Application

Students must have started their 6th grade school year to be eligible to volunteer.

Thanks for considering such a high call! There is no greater investment than pouring your life into that of a child. That’s not just our opinion- research confirms what the Bible’s taught all along... “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” -Proverbs 22:6 (TNIV)

At Emmanuel, we won’t entrust the most precious, impressionable, and vulnerable members of our community to just anyone. Know that we ask the same questions and make the same requests to everyone who expresses interest in caring for our kids. It’s all part of creating a safe, fun, and spiritually sound experience for our little ones.

Program Descriptions

NURSERY: Our Nursery includes children from birth to 2 years old (by Sept. 1st). These young children are welcomed into a caring nursery environment designed just for them. We provide a room filled with toys, bubbles, books, and songs.

TOTS: The TOTS class is for children 2 years old (by Sept. 1st) to 3 years old. Our curriculum is specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of children in this age group. We provide a room with toys, games, crafts, and fun.

PRESCHOOL: This is our program for children from 3 years old (by Sept. 1st) through Kindergarten. All preschool aged children begin in a small group setting getting familiar with the story of the day. Children then meet together and share a large group experience with fun, meaningful worship and interactive Bible lessons. After, children return with their small groups to engage with the curriculum and activities.

ELEMENTARY: This is our Grade 1 through Grade 3 ministry. All grade school aged children begin in a small group setting getting familiar with the story of the day. Children then meet together and share a large group experience with Bible teaching and Scripture reading. After, children return with their small groups to engage with the curriculum and activities. *Because of the closeness in age, we prefer to have our Elementary leaders be 9th grade or older.

BRIDGE 45: This is our Grade 4 and Grade 5 ministry. These children will begin by worshiping alongside our congregation, until they are dismissed and leaders bring them to their designated space. Children then meet together for a large group experience with Bible teaching. Volunteers will assist leading small groups during the breakout time. *Because of the closeness in age, we prefer to have our Elementary leaders be 9th grade or older.

SETUP: Arrive at Shoreview Community Center at 7:30am (on occasion this may be earlier or later as needed). Bring black rolling bins out from the storage closet, and take them to the appropriate room. Setup room with ECC tables, chairs, dividers, and put out toys/games.

TEAR-DOWN: Following the 10:30am service, come to the designated KIDS area. Help return toys & games to designated plastic bins, take down hallway signs, and place in the correct storage closet. Put away ECC tables, chairs, dividers, and return black rolling bins to the storage closet.
